Sorry I don't have the link, but whilst in Minneapolis the past few days I read an article in the Minneapolis Star-Tribune (Thurs or Fri edition) which told of a research project for fluid transfer technology. It was funded for some tens of millions of dollars in hopes of increasing the efficiency of both hydraulic and pnuematic systems considerably. One item that caught my eye was the mention of increasing the efficiency of the vd pumps in use now. A couple of grad students were working on that. If I'd been thinking I'd have contacted them and said "the geeks on alt.coffee-they done done it as a thought experiment!". Bernie
