well aside from don't eat yellow snow... (how did you know that was my advice?!?!) There are 5 buttons on the touch pad. the cup ones, plus the other one. The other one flicks it into program mode - all the other buttons light up - the ones that don't light up are programmed already. Select the button, then the shot will start, use the program button to stop it. Button now programmed. When running a shot same program button will stop the shot. repeat for the other buttons. If that doesn't work, there is a switch inside the machine that on my atlas evd is marked on / off. Switching to on enables the programming. off leaves it alone. No prizes for guessing that if you are going to mess around, leave it on. Aside from that, its an espresso machine, what more do you need to know?
