I have seen temperature discussed in this forum several times. I always used
a vacuum pot so temperature control wasn't an issue for me. Recently I
switched to an Aeropress. I am amazed how much difference temperature makes
in the taste of the coffee. If I use boiling water, the coffee is very
harsh, like the old percolator coffee. Water a little cooler gives a much
better mellow taste. Now I am looking for a long stemmed thermometer to
check the water so I can get a consistently good cup of coffee.
