So?
What makes you think that article has specific relevance to "coffee lovers"?

Could it be the notion that milk is an integral part of coffee is just
another manifestation of the "Starbucks culture"?

Over the years, I've developed my sense of deja vu so acutely that now
I can remember things that *have* happened before...

Milk is an intregal part of coffee culture, period. There's hardly a
place in the US that doesn't have milk or some sort of milk product to
go with the coffee they serve. Even emergency ration kits usually
have a milk powder packet to go with that instant coffee packet. If
it wasn't for milk and sugar, my coffee drinking days may have begun
years later than they did. You ever drink GI coffee? Ick! I now
drink my coffee black and my espresso w/ sugar. But, we can't always
be at home enjoying a fresh brewed Harrar.

I recently attended a very early morning electronics fleamarket. I
didn't think to stop somewhere on the way in to get coffee and found
myself at the requisite charity donut/coffee station craving a cuppa
joe. Were they serving up cinnimon topped lattes or vacuum brewed
Mabesi? Sure, pal. No, it was one of those huge 3-4 gal plastic
thermo thingies with the little spigot on the bottom. I bought a cup
and took one little taste ...Ick!... after which I headed straight for
the sugar/milk/stirrer stash, which was right where is was supposed to
be.

I guess at this point, it really doesn't matter how good the coffee is
anymore...

Don't think so--the production of milk products and milk substitutes
intended primarily for use in coffee was a large industry in the US long
before Starbucks.

Too late. They already dumbed it down to a web site and make noobs
unaware of NNTP itself. And they still haven't fixed problems dating to
their makeover of the nice changes they had originally made to the deja
archive.

Google's pretty good in a lot of ways, but they suck here.

Sez the guy posting from their site. :-/

Geez.

It's an advertising bot. Check "other messages" posted today. Google
takes advertising, Google owns blogspot, the content is from drug
company websites. Anyone else think Google's out to ruin Usenet with
crap like this?
