Subject: Isomac Help

Did a alt coffee search and could not find the answer, please help ... My
isomac tea was making a hissing sound which i discovered was a torn rubber
washer on the valve that opens a pin to release high boiler pressure . It
was not the pin gasket itself but the larger hex nut gasket, being
thanksgiving wal-mart was open and i found a rubber washer used for faucets
which i installed on a temp basis until i can order/find a heat proof
replacement. I also decalcified the HX/Boiler using citric acid . I also
adjusted the OPV valve from 10.2 to 9.5.

Everything seemed to work correctly however this morning two issues:

1. When doing my typical HX flush prior to pulling a shot i notice water is
not superheated during the flushes, and the in the cup brew temp is cooler ?
However the water in the boiler is extremely hot.

2. My shots brew faster 16 seconds vs. 25 for the same grind and coffee
than yesterday prior to making any adjustments ?

Are these two issues related to the OPV adjustments.

Thanks, WS

Discovered the problem, Vapor lock... I open the steam valve and the boiler
gauge drops instantly to zero then goes back to 1.2 . then after that the
brew temp is hot and i have to flush the group.

Do i have to replace the vacuum breaker ? Can i take it apart and clean it
and what is the procedure or can i just push/pull on the pin to unfreeze it
?
