Did anyone else see this item in the news? http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2005/11/20/sunday/main1060326.shtml The interesting part is as follows: ...Which brings the discussion of coffee to Indonesia. Food science professor Masssimo Marcone is the Indiana Jones of coffee. He came here in search of the legendary Kopi Luak bean, a coffee that sells for up to $600 a pound. To find it, first you have to locate an Indonesian Mongoose. Spot one and the coffee's right behind. Hartman explains that the mongoose eats the coffee bean, digests it and then it is harvested for consumption. A "crap-acino" if you will," Hartman jokes. Massimo says once the beans are cleaned and roasted, they're perfectly safe and make the best coffee in the world, some say.

Old story, and it's been worn out for a long, long time. My hope is that it'll go away & never be heard of again. That such an insignificant part of the coffee market gets so much attention is sad. I hope it says more about the herd mentality of the news reporters & producers than it does about the specialty coffee business as a whole. -- Robert (No I've never had any, and I've never had the clap. Don't care to try either!)
