Subject: reviews of some European coffees

Just my two cents on some European coffees I've tried while in Europe. These are all supermarket coffees, prepared with a cone and filter. Maison du Cafe, 0.5 kg for 1.50 euros: OK, but missing something. Flavor is all right. More caffeine than most, very addictive. I threw it half of out in the end. Segefreddo Intermezzo, 0.5 kg for 1.70 euros. Good, rather similar to some Starbucks, in that it is somewhat over-burnt. You taste the burnt and wonder, where's the coffee flavor? Lavazza Mattino, 0.5 kg for 1.50 euros. The best I've had here. Not perfect, but enjoyable. It has a chemical aftertaste. So, there you are. I'm not a coffee expert when it comes to reporting on nutty versus woody versus whatever.
