You KNOW that I have you filtered in alt.coffee and do not see your
messages unless some other person replies to them. That seems to be
quite clear.
I have have told you by E-mail as well as here on alt.coffee that I
filter out and discard your e-mails to me unread. That seems to be
quite clear to everyone but you.
When you approached me at the Charlotte show, my actions towards tyou
should have been more than clear that I had no interest in speaking to
you. At least they would have been to any reasonable, cognitive,
conscious person.
So, what would make you think that when you leave a message on my
phone answering machine at my place of business that I would have even
the slightest interest in calling you back?

Do not call me on the phone
Do not send me mail
Do not address me here on alt.coffee
Maybe someone there can explain this to you if it is not clear.

Just about any reasonable person I've ever met would read something like
this and conclude, "hey, this guy doesn't want anything to do with me, but,
there are about 4 billion other people out there who might," and would drop
it. Randy has every right to decide whom he will interact with, and for
whatever reason, in the same way that Al can killfile me if that suits him.
I don't want interraction with anyone who doesn't want it with me, and I
have no interest in contacting anyone who doesn't want to be contacted by
me. Why bother?
Personally, I don't care if someone can act like they aren't overtly
psychotic during a phone call or a brief meeting at a convention. Terrific.
Everyone can decide whom they want to interract with. Randy doesn't want to
interract with this individual and that is his choice. I feel exactly the
same way about this person as does Randy.
To the subject of this thread, go find someone else to pester, someone who
is more interested in pestering than having civil discussions about coffee.
If you are interested in coffee, then start discussing it, and stop focusing
on people you have annoyed enough that they want no further contact.

Yeah, like originating a thread towards one specific person is going to do

Just go back and look at google group threads over the last year and a half.
What you have is someone who responds to virtually every post made by
several of us in a way that makes the ng basically unreadable except if
someone knows to ignore those posts. If you find this to be a contribution
to the group, so be it.
As to Randy and this individual, I never see Randy responding to this
individual's posts; he ignores them. If this individual attempts to reach
Randy by such methods as calling him on the phone even though Randy has said
repeatedly he doesn't want any contact with this person, to me that is akin
to stalking.
Is this the sort of behavior that you consider normal, harrassing people who
have already made it known that they wish to be left alone?
I don't come here for this sort of stuff, I come here to discuss coffee. If
you enjoy this individual's posts then I suggest that you read them.

Not to answer my own post, but I have had offline contact with Dave
and found him to be very cordial. He even sent me something for my
machine that I had been looking for at no charge. Some of us just
don't play well with others, if you know what I mean. I'm just as
guilty as anybody. I'm trying to clean up my act. Learning doesn't
come from argument. Discussion is much more effective. Just my shiny
new $0.02.....al

I find a group much more congenial when I don't have
to wade through (or delete) endless threads cross-

You want to talk about real abuse? Look at
alt.binaries.coffee. Without filters, it's an
impossible morass of movies and warez through which
you'd never find any coffee related content. A single

makes it as if all that stuff doesn't even exist.
You may be objecting to the term "Kill File" rather
than its kinder gentler synonym "filter" but from here,
it's a usenet *without* Kill Files that's an anathema
to discussion.
As with other things, most people prefer their coffee
beans without the chaff... ;-)

I find too many entries in my slrn "score" file to be a heavy drag on
my ancient 450 Pentium. Therefore, I've learned to leave it up to my
brain's filter to do what needs to be done. Full disclosure, full
control, full enjoyment.

Yup. Even with a 750Mhz desktop machine, a heavy-
duty slrn score file can be a noticeable drag.
Consequently, I only have one rule there. The rest are
in the server's filter.
Separate machine, twice as fast, more memory. I've
been reducing its workload in preparation for the day
I finally upgrade its RH 6.2 to something more modern.
It's down to just doing news and mysql now.
BUT... what do you do about a.b.c. then? Do you
really scroll through hundreds of lines of...

Yes, I've found him to be cordial and knowledgable when I've talked to
him in person. I've also found him to be incredibly annoying on the
internet at times, but he has been helpful to people here, and I
support the right of folks to post. As always, I can do without the
catfighting.
And I favor a clean machine, so I backflush.

I have conducted my self poorly at times, and fanned the 'flames'. but
the issue of my identities is a red herring -- I have provided real
phone numbers and emails for at least a year, to pull up ancient posts
is specious.
BUT, I will not tolerate ad hominem attacks on my character, business
ethics, sanity, or anything like that. I will vigorously respond. My
reputation in those areas is available for all to see. Where? ebay.
Rg makes valuble contributions, and fox too. too bad they did not see
or read those times I complimented, and yes, actually AGREED with them.
and BTW, one phone call does NOT constitute 'stalking'. I called to
make contact and smooth the waters.
So to those I have offended lately, or 15 months ago, I apologize.
