Last Saturday I launched a non-profit web project: http://www.espressomap.com. It's a subjective map of the top espresso in North America. Basically, I want to find excellent espresso when I travel, so I made this Google-based mashup to do just that. Cafes listed are either personally validated or confirmed through competition-level baristi or trusted palettes. Feedback is welcome, especially regarding the SE US, and Rocky Mtn states.

You forgot Barry, Bernie, can't find North's place... and what? no Starbucks? and where are the other useful maps - uk, europe, australia, nz? It's easier if you first zoom out till you get over where you want. When I just tried I could see enough detail down lot outlines on the streets. The sat is not quite that resolution though, back a notch or two but it's come a long way from where it was. Ok try this. Type 'auckland, new zealand' into the search box (that's about where you are right?). If you can convince Eric that you are a "trusted palette" you could get him to add your locals :-) There it is already set up just waiting for you to give him the details

But it's a good start.

Gee wizz you wouldn't believe the price of copper water pipes these days. I think I paid US$25 for 12ft. Anyway as my new workshop came complete with (now to make you 110V people dead jealous) 10 - yes 10 x 3-phase 220V 30amp sockets it was rude not to do the water and drainage so that I COULD have at least 6 machines on at 1 go. Barista comp anyone??? Paul

A 2 group compact on 240 single phase is enough. ;-) Rob

Great service. Good job! Nice to see Boston finally has a worthy shop. It would have been overrun by desperate espresso hounds during SCAA in 2003. Marshall
