Subject: compatible with the saeco (Sbux Barista) ?
|
i, like, a million other people on this site own a starbux barista with a pressurized pf. however i don't really like the pf that saeco sells for their machines. so my question is if any other brand of portafilter could work with my machine... i know solis does, but the quality isn't really a step up. i'd like to know if i could buy for example, a la spaziale bottomless 53mm pf and have it fit my machine. much appreciated.

If you take your pressurized PF apart and toss out all the little springs and levers it will no longer be a pressurized PF. Drill out a bigger hole in the bottom center for good measure. Leave the large o-ring around the bottom in place - the edge of the basket must seal against this o-ring. It's not hard to do and it costs nothing. <stanster@gmail.com > wrote in message news:1160557691.840123.269280@e3g2000cwe.googlegroups.com... > i, like, a million other people on this site own a starbux barista with > a pressurized pf. however i don't really like the pf that saeco sells > for their machines. so my question is if any other brand of portafilter > could work with my machine... > > i know solis does, but the quality isn't really a step up. > i'd like to know if i could buy for example, a la spaziale bottomless > 53mm pf and have it fit my machine. > > much appreciated. >
