Subject: iRoast 2 problem: temperature stuck at lukewarm
|
I'm a roasting novice and I was lucky enough to receive an iRoast 2 as a Christmas gift (I'm in Australia so I assume I have the Asian model). But although I've followed the instructions carefully I've been unable to get it working properly. The roast temperature never rises above lukewarm. This happens with all profiles -- the default profiles and those I've programmed myself. When I start a roast things appear to work as they should: the fan speed changes according to the stage of the roast, etc. But the beans never turn brown -- at the end of the roast they have only a light brown tinge. If I press the temp button at any time during a roast I get a readout of "020C", and the roaster, and the air it emits, feel lukewarm. Pushing the "up" button during a roast to increase the temperature has no effect. I'm really hoping I don't need to send the roaster in for repairs. Does anyone have any ideas?

It doesn't bother me. The buzz of being able to do my own roasting outweighs concerns about noise. Thanks for the reply.
